Our Mission
Why Does The ZOE Agency Exist?
The ZOE Agency exists to close the generational wealth gap in underserved communities. We do this by equipping families with financial knowledge they were never given, training agents who operate from covenant conviction rather than sales scripts, and serving business owners with protection rooted in Biblical stewardship.
The name ZOE comes from the Greek word for life. Jesus used it in John 10:10 when He said:
“A thief has only one thing in mind, he wants to steal, kill or destroy. But I have come to give you ZOE, everything in abundance, more than you expect, life in its fullness until you overflow.” John 10:10 Paraphrased
That is the mission. Life in its fullness. Not survival. Not scarcity. Abundance, protection, and provision for the families who have been left out of the conversation for too long.
Hosea 4:6 says “my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” That destruction is not abstract. It is families who lose homes, drain savings, and start over from zero because no one taught them what was available.
Knowledge first. Protection follows. It has been the mission since 1759 when the Church built the first Life Insurance fund to protect widows. We are continuing the work.

Who Invented Life Insurance in America?
Life insurance in America was not invented by Wall Street. It was founded by Presbyterian ministers in 1759 who created the Corporation for Relief of Poor and Distressed Widows and Children of Presbyterian Ministers.
They understood that James 1:27, “look after orphans and widows in their distress,” required a system. Not just good intentions. A system. The same objection people raise today was raised in 1759. The Church built it anyway.

How does life insurance build generational wealth?
Life insurance builds generational wealth by creating an inheritance where savings and accumulated assets cannot, especially in communities where generational wealth has been interrupted by systemic barriers.
- A $500,000 whole life policy creates a $500,000 inheritance regardless of the family’s current net worth
- Proceeds pass outside of probate, directly to the named beneficiary with no court delays or legal fees
- Permanent life insurance builds cash value that can be accessed during the policyholder’s lifetime

Is Life Insurance Biblical?
Yes. Life Insurance was invented by the Church. In 1759, Presbyterian ministers created the first Life Insurance fund in America to fulfill James 1:27, “look after orphans and widows in their distress.” Scripture supports financial planning and protection throughout both testaments:
- Joseph stored grain for seven years of famine, the oldest documented example of reserve-based protection in Scripture (Genesis 41)
- Noah built an ark while the sky was clear, faith expressed through building, not waiting (Genesis 6)
- Jesus told His followers to count the cost before building (Luke 14:28)
- Paul wrote that anyone who does not provide for their household has denied the faith (1 Timothy 5:8)
A Life Insurance policy is not a lack of trust in God. It is recognizing that God gave you the ability to create wealth and the wisdom to be a good steward of it. The Church understood this in 1759. The principle has not changed.
